about the new balance inMotion program:
Whether you want to finish a 5K, shift gears to become more fit and fast as a runner or runner/walker, or take on the challenge of a 10K, half or full marathon, New Balance Sarasota's inMotion training programs will help you reach your goals. Coach Holly Johnson provides personalized training programs tailored to specific levels of fitness and individual goals while providing additional information and tips in the areas of nutrition, mental strength, injury prevention, and biomechanics.
TRAINING program options include:
Option 1 - Drop-In Training
Cost: $15/session or 5 session punch card for $60
Includes: Need for speed? Going the distance? Single session coaching on Thursday or Saturday mornings at 7 am (see where below) with other runners and walkers. Workouts are personalized based on goals, upcoming races and current fitness level.
Option 2 -- Self-Motivation Training program
Includes: 10-week personalized training plan based on current fitness and goals with adaptations as needed based on training progress; 2 group coaching sessions at Brookside Middle School track to gauge current fitness and progress half-way through program; New Balance inMotion in-store discount card for duration of program (additional group coaching sessions available for $15/week or 5 for $60)
Best suited for: Individuals who are self-motivated and due to work/training priorities need to regularly walk/run/train on their own. Added benefit of this program over on-line versions is the additioal guidance and support provided through a personalized (vs. template) program to help your reach a personal goal -- be it crossing the finish line or achieving a time goal or PR (personal record)
Option 3 -- Full-Service Training Program
Includes: 10-week personalized training plan based on current fitness and goals. Includes updates and adjustments as needed to accommodate training progress and/or setbacks; weekly group coaching/training sessions (up to 2/week) and/or email check-in on progress/challenges, New Balance inMotion in-store discount card for duration of program
Best suited for: Individuals who are seeking a full-service training program that includes ongoing accountability, motivation, training support and guidance; can be beginners to more advanced runners or walk/runners who seek a regular training protocol, want to improve form and/or speed, as well as access to advice, tips, and increased knowledge on all facets of training, including specific skills, nutrition, fueling, injury prevention, mental strength, stretching and strengthening/agility exercises
Training sessions take place in the Sarasota area on Thursday mornings (speedwork) and Saturdays (longer walk/run sessions) -- starting from New Balance Sarasota (1872 Stickney Point Road, just east of the South Bridge) or Marina Jack.
